^FD: Field Data (ZPL)

Supplies the text or data for the current field.

Field data is the payload of the current field. For a text field it is the characters to print. Barcode fields use the same command for their contents. The data runs until the field separator. A caret or tilde inside the data can be read as a new command, so the test label helper rejects those characters. An empty data command produces an empty field, which looks like a missing line rather than a printer fault. Put the origin and any font command before the data, and the separator immediately after it.
