Zebra printer light colors
Flashing green means the printer is receiving a label. That is normal. Double-flashing green means paused: press FEED. Red usually means the printer stopped, except an LP2844 blinking red during a firmware download or a power-on FEED hold. Amber means different things on different models, and on the ZP450 it also depends on the manual revision.
Use the table for your model. If the light is red, the red light guide has the button steps.

|---|---|
| Red flashing | A problem with the label. Load several labels and hold the top button until one beep. |
Connect in Chrome or Edge. Host status is read on connect, and the decoder turns a pasted ~HS reply into words. An EPL-only LP2844 needs the table above, not that read.
FAQ
Why is my Zebra printer blinking green?
A single flashing green is normal. The printer is receiving data. A double flashing green means paused. Press FEED.
What does an orange or amber light mean?
It depends on the model. On a GK420d, solid amber means stopped, and a short amber at power-on is normal. On the ZP450 guide 980546-003 A, flashing amber means stopped and solid amber is a head-temperature state. A later ZP450 revision swaps those amber meanings.
What does a red, amber, and green flash mean on a GK420d?
Memory defragmentation. Do not power off.
What does a constant amber light mean on an LP2844?
The cover is open, or the printer got a command it could not parse.
