media.type

Older media-type key. Confirm the spelling on the printer.

Media type on older firmware describes the stock family, with values seen in the field such as label, tag, and journal. Current Link-OS builds prefer ezpl.media_type with continuous, gap/notch, and mark. If get on this key returns a question mark, use the ezpl key instead. The value list here is the common older set and is not marked verified against every model. A rejected set means the printer wants a different spelling. Wrong media type makes the sensor look for an index that is not there, which shows up as skipping or a long feed.

Syntax

! U1 getvar "media.type"

Typeenum
Rangelabel, tag, journal
Accessgetvar, setvar

Example

Read this setting

! U1 getvar "media.type"
Send to my printer
