device.languages

Selects whether the printer parses ZPL, EPL, or a hybrid mode.

Device language chooses the command language the printer expects on its host ports. Common values are zpl, epl, and hybrid_xml. A printer left in EPL ignores ZPL setup, which looks like a dead USB port. Switch language, then send a command from the new language only. Some firmware applies the change on the next job, and some want a restart. Query the key again before assuming it stuck. This library validates the three common names and rejects anything else so a typo cannot push the printer into an unknown mode.

Syntax

! U1 getvar "device.languages"

Typeenum
Rangezpl, epl, hybrid_xml
Accessgetvar, setvar

Example
